About Us

Holiday Island is an island along the St. Lawrence River about 1200 feet from the American span bridge with some great views of the river. We were featured in McCalls Magazine August 1957 "Truck drivers paradise" which can be found in our photo gallery(HERE). Holiday Island was purchased by the Handley family in the early 1940’s with the house being built around 1870 adding the icehouse and boathouse by 1910. All the original structures are still standing, with improvements only to preserve their longevity for future Handley’s.

As though he had some premonition of the future, Chuck replied, "Let's buy it now while we can enjoy it. Too many people wait until are old, then one dies and the other partner is left alone with it, or they wait until they can afford it. For some that time never comes"
